The Trofeo Brake from ATK is a race ski mountaineering binding with a ski brake, the entry model among the maker's race bindings. The binding is built almost entirely from 7075 aluminium, which keeps it very light. On the toe piece a single pair of springs locks the boot, the shape of the toe guides the boot tip on step-in, and the ski crampon mount is built in and removable. At the heel the ski brake engages without any extra move from you, and the Rolling In System stops the boot from wearing the U-spring and makes for a softer step-in. As usual for race bindings, the release values are fixed and there is no length adjustment: the binding is mounted to fit your boot exactly. It is made for narrow, light race skis.
